About Contract Division Head
Leads the business unit responsible for supplying, designing, and installing furniture for commercial, hospitality, educational, or corporate clients (non-residential projects). This role combines strategic business development, project management, and high-level client relationship management to ensure profitable, timely delivery of large-scale projects.
What You Will Do
- Strategic Leadership & Business Development: Define the vision and strategy for the contract division to maximize gross margin and revenue.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary contact for key clients, stakeholders, and developers to secure contracts and ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Contract Negotiation & Compliance: Oversee the bidding process, negotiate contract terms, and ensure all proposals and final contracts meet legal, quality, and budgetary requirements.
- Project Execution Oversight: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of furniture orders from sales, procurement, and production to final installation.
- Supplier & Vendor Management: Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, and third-party installation teams to ensure quality control and adherence to lead times.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and set KPIs for a team of sales personnel, project managers, and designers.
- Financial Reporting: Analyze sales figures, monitor project costs, and manage the division budget to drive profitability.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience (often 5–7+ years) in commercial furniture, interior design, or project management, with a track record of handling high-value projects.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of furniture materials, manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, assembly), and contract furniture standards.
- Negotiation & Sales Skills: Strong ability to negotiate with vendors and close deals with corporate clients.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD software and ERP systems for tracking inventory and orders.
- Leadership: Excellent team management and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and move for extended periods, including walking through office and warehouse spaces.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer work, sketching, and handling material samples.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of materials, samples, and product prototypes.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for supplier visits, trade shows, and design development meetings.
- Visual acuity to assess product details, colors, and finishes accurately.
- Ability to adapt to various work environments, including office settings and warehouses.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, or reaching to inspect products or review samples.
