What You Will Do

  • Designing and Prototyping the primary responsibility of a furniture designer is to create unique and innovative designs for different types of furniture and to create a prototype to test its functionality and aesthetics.
  • Produce new designs furniture, or improve existing ones.
  • Take into account size, shape, ergonomics and production methods when producing design ideas.
  • Creating models of new designs for testing in physical simulations such as ergonomic studies such as sitting positions in chairs.
  • Technical Skills Furniture design is a highly technical field, and a designer must possess a strong understanding of technical drawing and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Client Communication Furniture designers often work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences. Designers must also be able to present their ideas and designs effectively to clients, explaining the rationale behind their choices and addressing any concerns or feedback.
  • Project Management Designing and creating furniture is a multi-step process that requires strong project management skills, must be able to manage their time effectively, meet deadlines, and coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure that the final product meets the desired quality standards.
  • Attention to Detail Furniture design is all about the details, and a successful designer must have a keen eye for detail.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in furniture design, industrial design, or related field.
  • Minimal 3 – 5 years professional experience in furniture design.
  • Having Design Skills, Artistic Sensibility, Market and Trend Awareness.
  • Creativity and practical ability.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, 3ds Max, or similar software
  • Strong portfolio of previous work.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
